Tachikawa Calligraphy Nib Type B - Set of 2

The Tachikawa Calligraphy Nib Type B - Set of 2 is designed for uniform lines and modern calligraphy styles. Type B is a round nib with a small disc-shaped tip. Unlike flat Type A and C nibs, this shape ensures that the line thickness remains the same in every direction.

This “monoline” effect is comparable to writing with a fineliner, but with the flow and character of liquid ink. The absence of thick-and-thin variation makes this nib very forgiving and easy to control, ideal for beginners, technical drawing, and modern lettering.

Type B nibs are widely used for modern rounded lettering, technical illustrations, ornaments, and decorative borders. Smaller sizes are perfect for fine details, while larger sizes create a bold, graphic effect.

The nibs are equipped with a gold-colored ink reservoir. This is essential for round nibs: the reservoir holds a generous amount of ink, allowing you to draw long, flowing lines without frequent re-dipping.

The Type B series is available in widths ranging from 0.5 mm to 6 mm. Choose smaller sizes (0.5 - 1 mm) for fine writing and illustration, and wider sizes for bold headings and posters. The nibs fit standard “universal” pen holders, such as the Tachikawa T-25 and Tachikawa T-40.
