Premium Bancha (first harvest, 5 star), from Kakegawa, Shizuoka Prefecture.
Harvested at the end of the first flush season (2015), this tea has received more sunlight than the first flush sencha. This is great for the development of cathechines. These healthy tannins give the tea a little ‘bite’, although this green bancha is still a mild tea with a sweet aftertaste, and can compete with top sencha teas from the second flush. It is great at any time of the day.
Water temperature: 70°C. Use 2-3 g per cup. Infuse for 1 min. Several infusions possible.
